weekend snapshot : rambutan

Rambutan is one of the tropical fruit. It has shape like Lychee.

its skin is hairy, that’s why we called it rambutan, ’cause rambut means hair.

One of our relatives owned its plantation — a big one — in a little city — 2 hours drive from Jakarta named Purwakarta. so there we were, picking up the rambutans right from the trees.

the fruits were so sweet, that I forgot to show what’s the inside look like, well it look like a lychee

  5. We call it Rambutan here in the Philippines, too, and it’s usually in the third quarter of the year when we get to have plenty of this in the market.

    But wow~ a rambutan plantation!! I’ll go wild there and probably stuff myself silly with those juicy fruit! I love eating them but I’m lazy to peel!! LOL
